week 5: 1- target market

The first thing I noticed when comparing the two diaper websites is justcheapdiapers.com is focused on how low cost the diapers are. Whereas econobum.com is focused of being environmentally friendly. So the two are looking for similar but different target markets. Econobum.com is looking for a mother in the need of diapers and is also an environmentalist. Justcheapdiapers.com is looking for a mother in the need of diapers and has a low income. With that being said, the most obvious differences in the websites is what they stand for, cheap diapers or saving the planet. There is a little crossover with econobum.com and justcheapdiapers.com. In the "about us" section in econobum.com they talk about how their diapers are for people on a budget. Yet I believe their main focus is being Eco-friendly.

Week 4

One of the websites I saw that had a few problems was jamilin.com. I think the layout looks too crammed together. The design has all the information and links small and too close to each other. Also at first glance of their website I didn't even know what they were selling. The first thing I would do to improve their website would be take out the blank spaces on the sides and expand the information and links out. That way it would be easier to read and look more spread out. I would have what the website is selling a lot bigger and in your face. Another website that could use a little work would be gatesnfences.com. This website use very small front that could be tough for some people to read. Also some of the color schemes make it tough to read certain words. I think if they changed the format of the website and made it more inviting and not so dull it could help.

A couple websites I think did a good job are apple.com and nps.gov. Apple.com is great because it is simple and easy to navigate. Their website looks clean and you can tell it was put together very well. The home screen is simple yet has everything you need to access whatever apple need you have. Nps.gov is another one that is simple and easy to navigate. the opening page is nice and inviting. It is easy to find what you are looking for. This website does a good job at displaying their message. The design is very inviting and simple on both of these websites. It was easy to find what you are looking for. I believe that is important concept to have when making a website.

Week 2 Overview of Social Media

     I believe that Facebook is gear toward more of a personal use rather then business use. Facebook mainly used to keep into with friends and family. When I use Facebook, I use it to connect with long distance family. I believe Facebook was made to be geared toward staying connected with people. Although businesses can use Facebook for practical reason, I think it is mostly geared toward personal use.

    Linkedin is a really good social media platform that tons of businesses use. It is a great way to get a very good idea of the person you are going to hire or do business with. Linkedin is a great way to get your name out there and also expand your business. Most applicants will include their Linkedin profile link on their application in order for the employer to look it over.

     I believe twitter and Instagram are geared for both business and personal use. With the amount of people on these two platforms businesses can promote their products or messages to everyone. Both are great for exposure and getting your message out there. Also Instagram you are able to contact businesses or pages for businesses inquiries.   

Week1A: Template

I choose this blog template because it is simple and easy to navigate through. My favorite color is red also so i was immediately drawn to this one.

I believe when people look at by blog page they wont be overwhelmed by the template instead they will feel calm and relaxed.

I am also a huge Chicago Blackhawks fan and their main color is red.
